Deeds of Variation

(Deed of family arrangement)

Deeds of Variation are used to alter the Will of someone who has died, within two years of their death.

A Deed of Variation can provide a way of dealing with Inheritance Tax implications after a person has died. Alternatively it may be felt that someone close to the deceased has not been adequately provided for in a Will, or a wealthy elderly beneficiary might wish to pass their legacy on to someone else.
